Magdalena Hasiuk, PhD
Head of Community Theatre Section
A graduate of the University of Łódź (theatre studies, foreign languages college). PhD in humanities, specialisation – theatre studies (University of Łódź; supervisor: Dr Kazimierz Kowalewicz, Professor at the University of Łódź). She has been working at the Department of Theatre History and Theory since 2012, initially as an intern. She lectures at the Postgraduate Studies of the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences (she also lectured at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy in Warsaw and gave guest lectures at the University of Łódź, the Divadelní fakulta Akademie múzických umění in Prague and Gori State Teaching University). In 2015–2016, she co-curated the international project ‘More than Theatre’, dedicated to the full-fledged art of people with disabilities, carried out at the Jerzy Grotowski Institute in Wrocław. Translator of Jacques Lecoq's book The Poetic Body. Research interests: the work of theatre laboratories in Europe in the 20th century; socially engaged theatre (with particular emphasis on prison theatre).
