He graduated from the Technical College of Photography as a chemical technician specialising in photosensitive materials technology and film processing. He worked at the Institute of Industrial Chemistry as a chemical technician, at the Polish Interpress Agency as a chemical technician-photographer, at the Polish Press Agency as a chief photography specialist, and at the Profslab colour advertising agency as a chemical technician-photographer. He has been working at the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 2005.
