Anna Parkitna is an Assistant Professor (Adiunkt) in the Department of Musicology at the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where she is the principal investigator of the NCN OPUS project An Ambivalent Periphery: Situating Opera and Operatic Culture of Poland on a Map of the Enlightenment. She received her PhD in musicology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2020. She has held research fellowships at the German Historical Institute in Warsaw, the Gotha Research Centre, and the Herder Institute for Historical Research on East Central Europe in Marburg. She is a recipient of a grant from the American Musicological Society (William Holmes / Frank D’Accone Endowment) for research on the history of opera. Her research interests focus on the specific features of operatic culture in the Polish Enlightenment in the context of repertory migration processes and transnational networks of cultural exchange in Europe in the second half of the eighteenth and the early nineteenth centuries.
