Tadeusz Zadrożny, Associate Professor
Art historian and theologian, graduate of the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw in 1983; doctor of humanities in art sciences – art history in 2005, and habilitation in 2023 by resolution of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences. From 1983 to 1996 he worked at the IS PAN Library, during which he completed part-time postgraduate studies in Neo-Latin studies at the Faculty of Philology, University of Łódź, from 1986 to 1987; postgraduate full-time doctoral studies at the IS PAN, from 1988 to 1992, and in 1994, as a Getty Grant Program scholarship holder, he participated in an international training program for art librarians at the Mortenson Center and the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since October 1996, he has been the custodian of the microfiche collection of the Count Leopoldo Cicognara Library – sources for the theory and history of art and the development of ancient tradition.

Projects
Document or book. The role of the catalogue Sichergestellte Kunstwerke im Generalgouvernement from the perspective of a control copy signed by Josef Rücker, currently in the collection of the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences – as part of an individual work program concerning wartime losses of Polish art collections incurred as a result of World War II, considered in the context of the methodology and development of research on the history of art, the formation of criteria for the valuation of works of art, the concept of a museum of old art, and the then-current theory and standards of conservation.
