Professor Stanisław Mossakowski
Honorary Editor in "Biuletyn Historii Sztuki"
The long-standing director of the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences, a member of numerous scientific societies in Poland and abroad (including the Polish Academy of Sciences, Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, Warsaw Scientific Society), and a historian of modern art. His specialisations include the history of architecture and decorative sculpture, the role of ancient tradition in art, Polish-Italian artistic relations, and the connections between art history and the history of ideas.
As an author he has published extensively (over 130 publications) in a range of languages, including Polish, Italian, English, French and German, in both academic and foreign journals, such as the "Wiener Jahrbuch für Kunstgeschichte", the "Journal of the History of Ideas", the "Zeitschrift für Kunstgeschichte", the "Quadrivium", the "Revue de l'art", and the "Napoli nobilissima". In addition, he has contributed to numerous publications containing the proceedings of foreign specialist academic symposia.
