She graduated with a Master of Arts degree in Polish Philology from Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin and then completed the postgraduate studies in Academic Libraries at the Institute of Library and Information Science, at the University of Warsaw.  She worked at the University of Warsaw Library in the Collection Development Department. As a recipient of The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation scholarship, she completed a three-month internship at the Stanford University Libraries  and became acquainted with the works of other academic libraries (UC Berkeley, UC Los Angeles). As a result of her stay she wrote several articles pertaining the American model of collection development, published in Polish professional magazines ( Co nas może zainteresować w amerykańskim modelu gromadzenia zbiorów?,  „Bibliotekarz” 1992,  nr 3, s. 8-10; Czy zasady gromadzenia zbiorów są zasadne, użyteczność amerykańskiego doświadczenia, „Bibliotekarz” 1995, nr 7/8, s. 15–18; Metodyka opracowania zasad gromadzenia zbiorów w bibliotekach Stanów  Zjednoczonych, „Przegląd Biblioteczny” r. 64, 1996, z. 2/3, s. 143–157).  She has been working at the Library of the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 1995. Along with Jolanta Ewa Jankowska, she wrote a chapter about the history of the Library published in  Instytut Sztuki Polskiej Akademii Nauk 1949–1999, Warsaw 2000.
