Katarzyna Anna Kesling, PhD
A graduate of the Institute of Art History at the University of Warsaw. She obtained her master's degree in art history in 2012 on the basis of her thesis entitled The Art of Maria Nostitz-Wasilkowska, written under the supervision of Anna Sieradzka, Professor at the University of Warsaw. Graduated from the Doctoral School of the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences, she obtained her doctoral degree in humanities in the field of art history in 2020 on the basis of her dissertation entitled Jan Rubczak (1882-1942). The painter's artistic journeys, written under the supervision of Anna Wierzbicka, Associate Professor at the Institute of Art, Polish Academy of Sciences.
Since 2011 she has been associated with the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences. From 2014 to 2020, she worked as an assistant at the Contemporary Art Documentation Section (now the 20th-21st Century Visual Arts Documentation Section). From 2014 to 2016 and again from 2018 to 2023, she took parts in National Programme for the Development of Humanities (NPRH) grants, funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Since 2021, she has been employed at the Dictionary of Polish Artists as an assistant professor.
