Karolina Łabowicz-Dymanus, PhD
Head of the 20th and 21st Century Visual Arts Documentation Section
Karolina Łabowicz-Dymanus is an Assistant Professor and Head of the 20th- and 21st-Century Visual Arts Documentation Section at the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. Her research focuses on the writing of art history, the cultural dimensions of the global Cold War, and the theory and aesthetics of art from the socialist era to the present. She also examines artistic and institutional responses to global modernization in the 1950s and 1990s. Currently, she is leading a research project on artistic exchange between Poland and socialist Asian countries from the 1950s through the 1980s.
