Anna Parkitna
Anna Parkitna completed her studies in musicology and earned a PhD from the State University of New York at Stony Brook (2020). She has held research fellowships at the German Historical Institute Warsaw, the Gotha Research Centre and the Herder Institute for Historical Research on East Central Europe in Marburg. She is a recipient of a grant from the American Musicological Society (William Holmes / Frank D’Accone Endowment). In addition, she is the laureate of the Wacław Lednicki Award in the Humanities (2025), conferred by the Polish Institute of Arts and Sciences of America, for her monograph Opera in Warsaw: A City of the European Enlightenment, published in the “Cambridge Elements in Music and the City” series (2024). Her research interests focus on the specific features of operatic culture in the Polish Enlightenment, examined through the migration of operatic repertoire and performers as well as transnational networks of cultural exchange in Europe in the second half of the eighteenth and the early nineteenth centuries.
