The Academic Board of IS PAN
The Academic Board exercises ongoing supervision over the Institute’s activities. It consists of 40 members appointed for a term of four years; sessions are held when necessary, however, at least four times a year.
The Academic Board’s core responsibilities include:
- approving programs for academic research and foreign cooperation;
- approving reports on the Institute’s activities;
- assessing the Academic Board and the activities of other staff engaged in the Institute’s core activities;
- supervising doctoral and post-doctoral (habilitation) studies and filing applications for awarding professorships in the relevant disciplines;
- expressing opinions on the Director’s recommendations for awarding professorships;
- proposing members for the Academy;
- proposing candidates for academic awards;
- passing the Institute’s statutes
